Competition Terms and Conditions – Updated January 2026

By entering The British Hair & Beauty Awards (“the Competition”), you (“the Entrant”) agree to these Terms and Conditions in full. Entry into the Competition constitutes your acceptance of these Terms together with our Shop Terms and Conditions. Luxe Creative Media (“the Organiser”) manages and delivers the Competition.


1. Changes to Terms

The Organiser may amend these Terms at any time without prior notice. Any changes will take effect immediately once published on our website. Entrants are responsible for reviewing this page regularly.


2. Eligibility

  • Open to all UK-based hair, beauty, nail, aesthetic and spa businesses.

  • Entrants outside the UK are not eligible.

  • The Organiser reserves the right to reject entries that are incomplete, inappropriate, or in breach of these Terms.


3. Enrolment & Fees

  • Enrolment fee: £19.50 per business.

  • One enrolment fee allows you to enter multiple categories for that same business on the same form.

  • Enrolment fees are non-refundable.

  • Once enrolled, you will receive your Stage 1 Enrolment Form. This must be completed within four (4) weeks.

  • Your form is reviewed within seven  7- 15 working days to determine whether you meet the finalist criteria.

Important:
Not all businesses will become finalists. Only businesses who meet the minimum eligibility and compliance criteria will progress.


4. Finalist Stage & Participant Fee

If accepted as a finalist:

You may choose to:

  1. Remain a Finalist only
    You will receive a digital finalist badge.

  2. Progress to the Judging Panel Stage

    • Participant Fee: £79.99 per category

    • Discounts available for multiple categories

    • Fee covers: judge scoring, admin, assessing supporting evidence, certificate costs, and ceremony preparation.

Once Participant Fee is paid:

  • You will receive your Supporting Evidence & Presentation link.

  • This must be submitted within four (4) weeks.

  • No extensions are offered under any circumstances.

If supporting evidence is not submitted, you will remain a Finalist only.

Participant fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome.


5. Supporting Evidence & Judging Criteria

Supporting Evidence is judged based on:

  • Website & online presence

  • Customer reviews and reputation

  • Legal compliance (insurance, H&S, training etc.)

  • Staff development

  • Customer experience

  • Salon standards & environment

  • Presentation quality

Minimum Standards Clause

Upgrading does not guarantee an award.

To receive a Bronze, Silver, or Gold award, businesses must submit complete, detailed, and credible supporting evidence.
Submissions that include minimal effort (e.g., one-word or yes/no answers) or poor-quality evidence will not meet the minimum criteria and will remain at Finalist level.

All judging decisions are final.


6. Winners & Awards

  • Winners are announced during online ceremonies hosted every six (6) weeks.

  • All winners will receive:

    • A personalised Winner Certificate

    • A digital Winner Badge

  • Trophies and marketing materials may be purchased separately.

All certificates, awards, and trophies are personalised and therefore non-refundable.


7. Refund Policy

No refunds are given for:

  • Enrolment fees

  • Participant fees

  • Upgrades or category add-ons

  • Failure to submit evidence

  • Disqualification or downgraded results


8. Conduct & Behaviour

Disrespectful, abusive, or harassing behaviour towards staff, judges, or other entrants will result in immediate disqualification and a permanent ban.

No discussion or appeal will be entered into regarding judging decisions.


9. Entrant Responsibilities

Entrants are solely responsible for submitting all materials on time.
The Organiser is not liable for lost, delayed, corrupted, or incomplete files.


10. Data Protection

Handled in accordance with UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.


11. Intellectual Property

All branding, certificates, logos and promotional materials remain property of the Organiser.


12. Marketing & Imagery

By entering, you give permission for the Organiser to use your business name, images, and entry materials for marketing and publicity.


13. Complaints Procedure

All complaints must be emailed to bbaawards@luxecreativemedia.co.uk

Response times:

  • General/admin: 5–15 working days

  • Result-related: 5–20 working days

  • Delivery/courier issues: up to 45 working days

Judging outcomes cannot be overturned.


14. Payment Plans

Payment plans are not available. 


15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
